2010 CEANA CONVENTION LAUNCHED PDF Print E-mail

The 2010 Convention was launched by Mr. David Aku a former president of the Volta Association at the 2009 year-end get-together. In his remarks, Mr. David Aku, noted that he is delighted at the opportunity given to Volta Association to host the convention for a record 4th time. He asked everyone to support the convention by volunteering, registering to attend the convention, soliciting sponsorships and making generous donations. Launching the convention under the theme, “Employing Education and Business Investments as instruments for developing Eweland”, Mr. David Aku declared that the Ewe community in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas is preparing to give a royal welcome to all our guests who will be attending this year’s convention.

In conjunction with the Volta Association Planning Committee and the CEANA (Council of Ewe Associations in North America Inc) Secretariat, the following information about the convention has been released:

CONVENTION DATE: September 2 – 6, 2010

Breakfast is provided by the hotel at $14 for adults and $11 for children.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION: Free Transportation to and from Washington metro area airports (Dulles International, Reagan National and Baltimore Washington International) to the hotel.

RESERVATION DEADLINE: On or before August 2, 2010 (the Cut-off Date).

CONVENTION PACKAGE: A flat Convention Fee of $130.00 per person (Children 12 years and all adults). Children under 12 accompanying their parents to any catered event will be charged a flat fee of $25.00. The convention package includes Two dinners, Two lunches, excursion to Washington DC metro area, picnic, fashion show, cultural shows, church service, networking, convention brochure and many fun stuff.

SPONSORSHIPS/ADVERTISING: CEANA is seeking corporate sponsors for the convention to financially support our programs. In return, the convention will offer sponsors the opportunity to showcase their products and services to over 750 attendees at one location. CEANA will also advertise sponsors in all promotional materials that it will issue – in proportion to donations.
